Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint Matthieu

(Mt 5, 17-19)

En ce temps-là,

Jésus disait à ses disciples :
« Ne pensez pas que je sois venu abolir la Loi ou les Prophètes :
je ne suis pas venu abolir, mais accomplir.
Amen, je vous le dis :
Avant que le ciel et la terre disparaissent,
pas un seul iota, pas un seul trait ne disparaîtra de la Loi
jusqu’à ce que tout se réalise.
Donc, celui qui rejettera
un seul de ces plus petits commandements,
et qui enseignera aux hommes à faire ainsi,
sera déclaré le plus petit dans le royaume des Cieux.
Mais celui qui les observera et les enseignera,
celui- là sera déclaré grand dans le royaume des Cieux. »

Le message

Le Temps de Carême est un réveil matin qui nous rappelle les merveilles de Dieu. En ces jours, les enfants apprennent à grandir dans la foi en voyant les adultes qui par leur vie chrétienne rendent témoigne à la Foi qu’ils professent.

Ces jours-là, nous nous rappellerons notre histoire, notre tradition, notre cheminement de foi. Nous disons à nos enfants que la Parole de Dieu s’accomplira un jour. N’ayez pas peur, le Seigneur nous accompagne, comme Il a accompagné son peuple dans le désert.

Gospel Reading: Matthew 5:17-19

17 "Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. 19 Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

The message

Man is so habituated with some of his behavior system that even if God comes and proposes something good for him, he finds it wrong in many angles. Only those who are in deep relationship with God, and in permanent communication with God can understand the perfection that Jesus is proposing today.

Jesus is assuring us that since God has promised to be with us, He will be so always. If we decide to reject Him, and refuse to enter in, we will surely be out. However He affirms that His word will not go without giving the fruit.

Thus the warning proceeds: let us not say anything in His name, against Him. We may think that we are wise and prudent in our way of double life, but God who sees everything, will judge us accordingly.
