Évangile de Jésus Christ selon

saint Jean 17,1-11a.

En ce temps-là, Jésus leva les yeux au ciel et dit : « Père, l’heure est venue. Glorifie ton Fils afin que le Fils te glorifie.
Ainsi, comme tu lui as donné pouvoir sur tout être de chair, il donnera la vie éternelle à tous ceux que tu lui as donnés.
Or, la vie éternelle, c’est qu’ils te connaissent, toi le seul vrai Dieu, et celui que tu as envoyé, Jésus Christ.
Moi, je t’ai glorifié sur la terre en accomplissant l’œuvre que tu m’avais donnée à faire.
Et maintenant, glorifie-moi auprès de toi, Père, de la gloire que j’avais auprès de toi avant que le monde existe.
J’ai manifesté ton nom aux hommes que tu as pris dans le monde pour me les donner. Ils étaient à toi, tu me les as donnés, et ils ont gardé ta parole.
Maintenant, ils ont reconnu que tout ce que tu m’as donné vient de toi,
car je leur ai donné les paroles que tu m’avais données : ils les ont reçues, ils ont vraiment reconnu que je suis sorti de toi, et ils ont cru que tu m’as envoyé.
Moi, je prie pour eux ; ce n’est pas pour le monde que je prie, mais pour ceux que tu m’as donnés, car ils sont à toi.
Tout ce qui est à moi est à toi, et ce qui est à toi est à moi ; et je suis glorifié en eux.
Désormais, je ne suis plus dans le monde ; eux, ils sont dans le monde, et moi, je viens vers toi.»

Le message

J’aime seulement prendre certains mots qui me touchent et je vous en expliquerai: La glorification du Seigneur, la vie éternelle, la prière, l’appartenance.

Jésus a glorifié son Père en faisant la Volonté de son Père. Dieu a glorifié son Fils, en Lui offrant ce Don de pouvoir accomplir la Volonté. Dans cet accomplissement de la Volonté, il y a une glorification mutuelle. En faisant la Volonté de Jésus, nous pouvons, nous aussi participer à cette glorification.

La vie éternelle : ce n’est pas une immortalité, mais une connaissance totale du père de Jésus. Connaitre la Vérité, le Chemin et la Vie. Connaitre Jésus, est connaitre Dieu Lui-même. En Jésus nous découvrons le visage du Père.

L’appartenance. Jésus nous affirme que nous appartenons à son Père et son Père qui Lui a confié ce peuple qu’Il aime, pour que par Lui, nous soyons sauvés. Ce n’est pas Dieu qui appartient à nous, c’est nous qui sommes à Dieu. C’est pour quoi Jésus nous demande d’être parfaits comme Dieu est parfait. Cette perfection est notre nature que Dieu nous a déjà donnée.

La prière est dialogue, Jésus parle avec son Père. Pouvons-nous transformer notre prière comme un dialogue ?

Scripture: John 17:1-11

1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2 since you have given him power over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work which you gave me to do; 5 and now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory which I had with you before the world was made. 6 "I have manifested your name to the men whom you gave me out of the world; they were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you; 8 for I have given them the words which you gave me, and they have received them and know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9 I am praying for them; I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours; 10 all mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 And now I am no more in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one.

The message

The prayer is a dialogue and we fond Jesus is in dialogue with His Father. In this dialogue we understand Jesus and His Father. The First thing that we understand is the glorification of the Father. Jesus has glorified the Father by doing the will of the Father. If we do the will of Jesus, in us Jesus will be glorified. Since Father is in Jesus, by doing the will of Jesus, we will glorify God.

The second point is the eternal life. The eternal life is not immorality, but knowing God as He is. It is though Jesus that we know God. The eternal life will give us access direct to the Father without any mediation, because we will be in Jesus, and through Jesus, we will be in God.

The third point is that we all belong to the Father and we are called to live our life in a dignified way, as we are in God and God in us. It is in this truth that Jesus asked to be like the Father, in His perfection. Every Christian should recall this truth and live up to this expectation of Jesus, which is very much proper to our own nature. Being a man is in truth being the image of the invisible God.
