Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint Marc

(Mc 6, 1-6)

En ce temps-là,

Jésus se rendit dans son lieu d’origine,
et ses disciples le suivirent.
Le jour du sabbat,
il se mit à enseigner dans la synagogue.
De nombreux auditeurs, frappés d’étonnement, disaient :
« D’où cela lui vient- il ?
Quelle est cette sagesse qui lui a été donnée,
et ces grands miracles qui se réalisent par ses mains ?
N’est- il pas le charpentier, le fils de Marie,
et le frère de Jacques, de José, de Jude et de Simon ?
Ses sœurs ne sont- elles pas ici chez nous ? »
Et ils étaient profondément choqués à son sujet.
Jésus leur disait :
« Un prophète n’est méprisé que dans son pays,
sa parenté et sa maison. »
Et là il ne pouvait accomplir aucun miracle ;
il guérit seulement quelques malades
en leur imposant les mains.
Et il s’étonna de leur manque de foi.
Alors Jésus parcourait les villages d’alentour en enseignant.

Le message

Même la grâce est gratuite, pour recevoir la grâce nous avons besoin de foi. C’est la foi qui nous fait capable de reconnaitre la grâce de Dieu et elle nous aide à la chercher.

Pour moi personnellement, cet évangile me dit, si les gens n’arrivent pas à reconnaitre la foi, comme Jésus, je dois continuer à annoncer la Bonne Nouvelle, d’alentour, car notre Père ne s’arrête jamais travailler.

Gospel text (Mc 6,1-6):

Jesus re­turned to his own coun­try, and his dis­ciples followed him. When the Sabbath came, He began teaching in the synagogue, and most of those who heard him were as­tonished. They commen­ted, «How did this come to him? What kind of wisdom has been given to him that he also performs such miracles? Who is he but the carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon? His sisters, too, are they not here among us?». So they took offense at him. And Jesus said to them, «Prophets are despised only in their own country, among their relatives and in their own family». And he could work no miracles there, but only healed a few sick people by laying his hands on them. Jesus himself was astounded at their unbelief. Jesus then went around the villages teaching.

The message

God never puts condition to receive the grace of God, including Faith. Since it is in faith that we realize the presence of God, without the faith, we cannot contain this grace.

The second message of the gospel may of very practical in our daily lives. When people refuse to accept us, we are tempted to react or stop doing the good needs. Jesus is telling us to ignore such people, and keep doing good, may be in and around or to some foreign land, but never stop doing good.
