Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint

Matthieu 9,27-31.

En ce temps-là, Jésus était en route ; deux aveugles le suivirent, en criant : « Prends pitié de nous, fils de David ! »
Quand il fut entré dans la maison, les aveugles s’approchèrent de lui, et Jésus leur dit : « Croyez-vous que je peux faire cela ? » Ils lui répondirent : « Oui, Seigneur. »
Alors il leur toucha les yeux, en disant : « Que tout se passe pour vous selon votre foi ! »
Leurs yeux s’ouvrirent, et Jésus leur dit avec fermeté : « Attention ! que personne ne le sache ! »
Mais, une fois sortis, ils parlèrent de lui dans toute la région.

« De toi mon cœur a dit: ' Cherche son visage ' ; c'est ton visage, Seigneur, que je cherche » (Ps 26,8)

« Toi, Seigneur, jusques à quand ? » (Ps 6,4) Jusques à quand, Seigneur, nous oublieras-tu ? Combien de temps nous cacheras-tu ton visage ? (Ps 12,2) Quand nous regarderas-tu et nous exauceras-tu ? Quand éclaireras-tu nos yeux et nous montreras-tu ta face ? Quand reviendras-tu à nous ? Regarde-nous, Seigneur, éclaire-nous, montre-toi à nous. Rends-nous le bien de ta présence, nous qui, sans toi, allons si mal. Aie pitié de nos efforts laborieux vers toi, nous qui ne pouvons rien sans toi. Tu nous invites : aide-nous donc.



Je t'en prie, Seigneur, ne me laisse pas soupirer de désespoir ; fais-moi plutôt respirer l'espérance... Qu'il me soit au moins permis d'entrevoir la lumière, même de loin, même depuis les profondeurs. Apprends-moi à te chercher et montre-toi quand je te cherche ; car je ne peux pas te chercher à moins que tu ne me guides, ni te trouver si tu ne te montres pas. Je te chercherai par mon désir et te désirerai en ma recherche. Je te trouverai en t'aimant et t'aimerai quand je te trouverai.

27 And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, "Have mercy on us, Son of David." 28 When he entered the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to him, "Yes, Lord." 29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you." 30 And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly charged them, "See that no one knows it." 31 But they went away and spread his fame through all that district.

"My heart has said of you, "Seek his face". O Lord, I do seek your face" (Ps 26,8)

Lord, how long will it be? (Ps 6,4). How long, Lord, will you forget us? How long will you hide your face from us? (Ps 12,2). When will you look upon us and hear us? When will you enlighten our eyes and show us your face? When will you come back to us? Look upon us, Lord, hear us and enlighten us, show us your very self. Return us the good of your presence amongst us, whose life is so weary without you. Take pity on our efforts and our striving toward you, for we may do nothing without you. Since you invite us, therefore help us.

I beg you, O Lord, do not leave me sighing of desperation; but rather let me breathe hope...May I at least be allowed to catch a glimpse of the light, even from faraway, even from the depths of hell. Teach me to seek you, and when I seek you show yourself to me, for I cannot seek you unless you guide me, nor may I find you unless you show yourself to me. I will seek you in desiring you and desire you in seeking you, find you in loving you and love you in finding you.
