Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint Marc

(Mc 1, 40-45)

Un lépreux vient trouver Jésus ; il tombe à ses genoux et le supplie : « Si tu le veux, tu peux me purifier. » Pris de pitié devant cet homme, Jésus étendit la main, le toucha et lui dit : « Je le veux, sois purifié. » À l'instant même, sa lèpre le quitta et il fut purifié. Aussitôt Jésus le renvoya avec cet avertissement sévère : « Attention, ne dis rien à personne, mais va te montrer au prêtre. Et donne pour ta purification ce que Moïse prescrit dans la Loi : ta guérison sera pour les gens un témoignage. »

Une fois parti, cet homme se mit à proclamer et à répandre la nouvelle, de sorte qu'il n'était plus possible à Jésus d'entrer ouvertement dans une ville. Il était obligé d'éviter les lieux habités, mais de partout on venait à lui.

Le message

Tout ce que nous avons reçu du Seigneur doit rendre témoignage de la présence de Dieu. C’est grâce à ces témoignages que l’homme trouve son espérance. Dieu n’arrête pas de nous donner les signes afin que nous puissions grandir dans la foi. Laissons nos cœurs et nos yeux ouverts pour qu’ils voient les merveilles de Dieu.

Le pardon est une des merveilles de Dieu. Chaque demande pour une purification ou une réconciliation est reçue avec une grande joie. Dieu nous répondra en disant, « Je le veux, sois purifié. »

La prière du missel

Dieu éternel et tout-puissant, dirige notre vie selon ton amour, afin qu’au nom de ton Fils bien-aimé, nous partions des fruits en abondance. Amen.

Mark 1: 40 - 45

40 And a leper came to him beseeching him, and kneeling said to him, "If you will, you can make me clean."

41 Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him, "I will; be clean."

42 And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean.

43 And he sternly charged him, and sent him away at once,

44 and said to him, "See that you say nothing to any one; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to the people."

45 But he went out and began to talk freely about it, and to spread the news, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter a town, but was out in the country; and people came to him from every quarter.

The message

Even though we feel that many of prayers remain unheard, we can’t be discouraged, because we have someone who will never abandon us. Let us surrender ourselves before the Lord like this leper and the Lord will surely heal us.

Our Lord is someone who is very generous to love us and forgive us. All that we have received from Him should give the fruit by our witnessing life. Our life should be the message to the people around us that the Lord is with us, and we in the Lord so that they could reach God through us. Like Jesus, let us allow people to come closer to us and let us not stop announcing the Good news to the people.

The Prayer

Lord, give us the courage to come to you, and cry for help like this leper. Many of us are not aware of our inner leper which blocks us habitually to come closer to you. Have pity on us and heal us. Give us your grace so that we may be the light of the world and be witness of your light to your people. Amen.
