Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint Matthieu

(Mt 11, 25-30)

En ce temps-là, Jésus prit la parole : « Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, je proclame ta louange : ce que tu as caché aux sages et aux savants, tu l'as révélé aux tout-petits.
Oui, Père, tu l'as voulu ainsi dans ta bonté.
Tout m'a été confié par mon Père ; personne ne connaît le Fils, sinon le Père, et personne ne connaît le Père, sinon le Fils, et celui à qui le Fils veut le révéler.

Venez à moi, vous tous qui peinez sous le poids du fardeau, et moi, je vous procurerai le repos.
Prenez sur vous mon joug, devenez mes disciples, car je suis doux et humble de coeur, et vous trouverez le repos.
Oui, mon joug est facile à porter, et mon fardeau, léger. »

Le message

Il y avait une fois que tous les chrétiens ont eu une image du Sacré Cœur à l’entrée de la maison. Chaque fois qu’on entre à la maison, on se rappelle cet amour divin ; l’incarnation, la mort et la résurrection du Seigneur et la présence du Christ avec les bras ouvertes, qui nous accueillie dans sa maison.

Cette image du Christ nous rappelle l’appel de Dieu, « Venez à moi, vous tous qui peinez sous le poids du fardeau, et moi, je vous procurerai le repos. » et aussi notre infidélité à cet appel de Dieu et notre refus à l’invitation à nous reposer auprès de Dieu.
Le joug et le fardeau du Seigneur sont toujours faciles à porter et très léger, car Il ne nous demande que de nous aimer, les uns les autres. Si nous n’arrivons pas à nous aimer les uns les autres, nous compliquons notre vie pour rien.

Gospel text (Mt 11,25-30):

At that time, Jesus said, «Father, Lord of heaven and earth, I praise you, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to simple people. Yes, Father, this is what pleased you. Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

»Come to me, all you who work hard and who carry heavy burdens and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble of heart; and you will find rest. For my yoke is good and my burden is light».

The message

In our homes, at the entrance, we have the image of Sacred Heart of Jesus. Just like in the old Jewish tradition, they continued to remind their children the history of salvation and how God has saved them, this image of Sacred Heart, do reminds of the immense Love of God for us and how much He has loved in the death and resurrection of Jesus.

The heart open, with blood pouring out, do reminds us of our unfaithfulness and our hard heartedness to His call to love another. Jesus is calling each and every one of us to come to Him and rest in Him. This image calls us to surrender ourselves to this divine love and allow ourselves to be transformed by this unconditional love.

By the very fact that we keep this image at the entrance of our home, we declare that this is the divine place where God resides. Let our children learn to love and forgive from this divine school, our home.
