Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint

Luc 11,29-32.

En ce temps-là, comme les foules s’amassaient, Jésus se mit à dire : « Cette génération est une génération mauvaise : elle cherche un signe, mais en fait de signe il ne lui sera donné que le signe de Jonas.
Car Jonas a été un signe pour les habitants de Ninive ; il en sera de même avec le Fils de l’homme pour cette génération.
Lors du Jugement, la reine de Saba se dressera en même temps que les hommes de cette génération, et elle les condamnera. En effet, elle est venue des extrémités de la terre pour écouter la sagesse de Salomon, et il y a ici bien plus que Salomon.
Lors du Jugement, les habitants de Ninive se lèveront en même temps que cette génération, et ils la condamneront ; en effet, ils se sont convertis en réponse à la proclamation faite par Jonas, et il y a ici bien plus que Jonas.

Le message

L’homme porte beaucoup d’importance à la sensibilité purement humaine qu’il dépend à son fruit de voire, toucher, se ressentir, etc. En regardant les réalités du monde, il s’enseigne et il s’avance. Si nous faisons une relecture sur la vie et de tout ce que nous voyons ou ressentons, nous pouvons facilement découvrir, tout ce qui ont échappé de notre regard.

Si notre attende est vraie et si nous cherchons un signe véritable de Dieu, Jésus nous rappelle qu’en Lui nous pouvons le découvrir. Ce n’est pas parce que nous n’avons pas de singes que notre foi est faible, mais parce que nous ne faisons pas confiance en Dieu et nous refusons à regarder les singes présents devant nous avec un cœur ouvert qui peuvent nous aider à reconnaitre sa présence dans notre vie.

Scripture: Luke 11:29-32

29 When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, "This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah. 30 For as Jonah became a sign to the men of Nineveh, so will the Son of man be to this generation. 31 The queen of the South will arise at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will arise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.

The message

People those who have learned to look everything with faith, will have plenty of signs to believe in God. It is here that the believers and non-believers differ in their pursuit of joy. Even though the presence of God is invisible to the naked eyes, the fruits of God’s presence are very vivid and alive. It is here the Pharisees and teachers of the law failed drastically.

Jesus does give us a sign very vibrant in Him, something very precious that our eyes don’t perceive in Jonas. This mysterious sign will be remembered by all the evangelists Mt.12,38-42; 16,1-4; Lk 11, 29-32; Mk 8, 11-12) which helps us to interpret the thinking of Jesus and His consciousness of His death and resurrection, very alive in Him, though even His close disciples were totally ignorant of the vents to follow.

Though things have already said and prepared, when the time came, all of them ignored the saviour of the world. Let us not repeat the same mistake of our forefathers. Let us learn to open our eyes and see the signs given in faith, in the history and the signs visible in our present time, before our eyes. Thus on the last day we may escape from the judgement and see the loving and merciful Father.
