Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint

Luc 13,18-21.

Jésus disait donc : « À quoi le règne de Dieu est-il comparable, à quoi vais-je le comparer ?
Il est comparable à une graine de moutarde qu’un homme a prise et jetée dans son jardin. Elle a poussé, elle est devenue un arbre, et les oiseaux du ciel ont fait leur nid dans ses branches. »
Il dit encore : « À quoi pourrai-je comparer le règne de Dieu ?
Il est comparable au levain qu’une femme a pris et enfoui dans trois mesures de farine, jusqu’à ce que toute la pâte ait levé. »

Le message

Jésus nous donne un des aspects du règne de Dieu : il se multiplie, capable de se grandir sans une intervention humaine. Comment il s’est grandi, nous ne pouvons pas le savoir, cependant nous pouvons profiter de son fruit, comme les oiseux du ciel.

Par cette parabole, Jésus nous exhorte l’important de la coopération de l’homme à l’accomplissement de la volonté de Dieu, comme un médiateur d’entre la graine et la terre. La graine appartient au Seigneur et la terre a produit le fruit. Nous rendons grâce au Seigneur pour se merveilles et Dieu nous fait partager à sa joie.

Le troisième est le règne de dieu qu’il soit si petit comme une graine de moutarde, il est capable d’accueillir un monde et el est capable de tout transformer.

Scripture: Luke 13:18-21

18 He said therefore, "What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? 19 It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his garden; and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches." 20 And again he said, "To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? 21 It is like leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, till it was all leavened."

The message

Jesus has used lot of parable to explain to us about the kingdom of God. It shows the mystical aspect of the Kingdom of God and our incapacity to understand it fully. However these parables do help us to understand certain aspect of the kingdom of God.

First it is like a mustard seed, though very little, it is able to shelter the birds of the sky. If we have this kingdom of God, and try to live in a dignified way as the member of this kingdom, we too will be able to welcome and give shelter to a multitude. It is important that we become member of this kingdom by systematically and radically following the teaching of Jesus, the only door to the eternal life.

Secondly, we need not have plenty to transform this world. It is enough that we posse like mustard seed, like a salt, like a small light. Like a leaven, the kingdom God is able to transform everything where we are in contact. By our very presence, like that of light which illumines, we too, by the grace of God, will be able to transform the world around us.

Thirdly, we will never be able to understand how God works in this world. All that is expected of us is, to be a mediator between the seed (God) and the land (world) which produces. Let us continue to sow the seed in the world and God will take care of the multiplication.
