Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint

Luc 8,4-15.

En ce temps-là, comme une grande foule se rassemblait, et que de chaque ville on venait vers Jésus, il dit dans une parabole :
« Le semeur sortit pour semer la semence, et comme il semait, il en tomba au bord du chemin. Les passants la piétinèrent, et les oiseaux du ciel mangèrent tout.
Il en tomba aussi dans les pierres, elle poussa et elle sécha parce qu’elle n’avait pas d’humidité.
Il en tomba aussi au milieu des ronces, et les ronces, en poussant avec elle, l’étouffèrent.
Il en tomba enfin dans la bonne terre, elle poussa et elle donna du fruit au centuple. » Disant cela, il éleva la voix : « Celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre, qu’il entende ! »
Ses disciples lui demandaient ce que signifiait cette parabole.
Il leur déclara : « À vous il est donné de connaître les mystères du royaume de Dieu, mais les autres n’ont que les paraboles. Ainsi, comme il est écrit : Ils regardent sans regarder, ils entendent sans comprendre.
Voici ce que signifie la parabole. La semence, c’est la parole de Dieu.
Il y a ceux qui sont au bord du chemin : ceux-là ont entendu ; puis le diable survient et il enlève de leur cœur la Parole, pour les empêcher de croire et d’être sauvés.
Il y a ceux qui sont dans les pierres : lorsqu’ils entendent, ils accueillent la Parole avec joie ; mais ils n’ont pas de racines, ils croient pour un moment et, au moment de l’épreuve, ils abandonnent.
Ce qui est tombé dans les ronces, ce sont les gens qui ont entendu, mais qui sont étouffés, chemin faisant, par les soucis, la richesse et les plaisirs de la vie, et ne parviennent pas à maturité.
Et ce qui est tombé dans la bonne terre, ce sont les gens qui ont entendu la Parole dans un cœur bon et généreux, qui la retiennent et portent du fruit par leur persévérance.

Le message

Le semeur ne part pas semer sans préparer la terre. La terre n’est pas consciente de processus de la préparation. Jésus nous invite à regarder l’invisible l’œuvre de Dieu en nous. Soyons vigilant que la parole reçue soit bien accueillie en nous. Que la parole reçue ne tombe pas dans la ronce de notre cœur. La persévérance donnera le fruit.

Seulement la bonne terre donnera le fruit. Si nous écoutons la Parole de Dieu, laissons-nous animer et guider par l’Esprit Saint, nous pouvons coopérer positivement à la préparation de la terre.

C’est ainsi notre maison sera comme une maison construite sur le roc, le roc de l’amour de Dieu et nous donnerons 100 pour cent de fruit.

4 And when a great crowd came together and people from town after town came to him, he said in a parable: 5 "A sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell along the path, and was trodden under foot, and the birds of the air devoured it. 6 And some fell on the rock; and as it grew up, it withered away, because it had no moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns grew with it and choked it. 8 And some fell into good soil and grew, and yielded a hundredfold." As he said this, he called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear." 9 And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant, 10 he said, "To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God; but for others they are in parables, so that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand. 11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, that they may not believe and be saved. 13 And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy; but these have no root, they believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. 14 And as for what fell among the thorns, they are those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.

The message

The story of the sower and the seed is well known to us. What is not explained and remains as a mystery is the way the sower has prepared the land. He can’t be that foolish that one day he raises up, to go and sow. Thus I invite you to meditate the way God has prepared us to receive the Word of God. The process of this preparation is hidden to us. Only those who are connected to God, it is revealed to them, because they are able to see the invisible work of God through visible signs of the world.

The second part of the story is, the way we welcome this Word of God. Let us be careful that this seed may not fall in the stony or the thorny part of our heart. It is important that we cooperate in the preparation of the land. Only if we allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through us that the land can be prepared as God desires.

The gospel says very clearly that though all received the Word with utmost happiness, only the good land was able to give fruit. Let us learn to keep our heart pure and clean so that we may be able to identify the Word of God and welcome it to penetrate in the deepest part of our being. A heart with patience and perseverance will give surely the good fruit, because it listens to the wisdom of God and allow God to work in it.
