Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint

Marc 9,30-37.

En ce temps-là, Jésus traversait la Galilée avec ses disciples, et il ne voulait pas qu’on le sache,
car il enseignait ses disciples en leur disant : « Le Fils de l’homme est livré aux mains des hommes ; ils le tueront et, trois jours après sa mort, il ressuscitera. »
Mais les disciples ne comprenaient pas ces paroles et ils avaient peur de l’interroger.
Ils arrivèrent à Capharnaüm, et, une fois à la maison, Jésus leur demanda : « De quoi discutiez-vous en chemin ? »
Ils se taisaient, car, en chemin, ils avaient discuté entre eux pour savoir qui était le plus grand.
S’étant assis, Jésus appela les Douze et leur dit : « Si quelqu’un veut être le premier, qu’il soit le dernier de tous et le serviteur de tous. »
Prenant alors un enfant, il le plaça au milieu d’eux, l’embrassa, et leur dit :
« Quiconque accueille en mon nom un enfant comme celui-ci, c’est moi qu’il accueille. Et celui qui m’accueille, ce n’est pas moi qu’il accueille, mais Celui qui m’a envoyé. »

Homélie

Puisque nous avons participé au baptême du Seigneur, nous nous appelons chrétiens. Un chrétien porte le Christ en lui et vit sa vie par Lui. Il écoute tout ce que le Seigneur lui demande de faire et met son âme et toute son énergie à accomplir la volonté de Dieu. Il ne fait rien d’autre que le Seigneur lui demande.

Les autres regardent et cherchent leur intérêt individuel, goût de la personne, profit de son acte. Si les autres ne sont pas notre priorité, nous commençons à nous perdre ou à nous détruire petit-à-petit, sans prendre connaissance de cette mission que Dieu nous a confié dès le commencement de la création. « Où est-il ton frère ? » La première lecture nous présente un des comportements de ce genre humain qui ont oublié leur mission confié par le Seigneur et qui cherchent à se protéger à tout prix, au péril des autres, en les mettant en épreuve.

Jésus marche avec ses disciples, il les instruisait sur son chemin, le chemin de croix et « les disciples ne comprenaient pas sa parole ». S’ils ne comprenaient pas ses paroles, ce n’était pas seulement qu’elle était difficile à comprendre, mais aussi ils étaient s’occupé avec un sujet important pour eux ; « qui était le plus grand. » La réponse du Seigneur est, « si quelqu’un veut être le premier, qu’il soit le dernier de tous et le serviteur de tous. »

Les lectures bibliques de ce dimanche mettent face à face deux camps intéressants, celui des « impies » et celui des « juste », celle de la guerre et celle de la paix, celle de l’humilité, du service, et celle de la gloire et de l’honneur. Devant ces carrefours on est confondu et il y a toujours les conflits dans la vie des hommes.

Jésus qui a compris le sujet de ses disciples, il leur demande, « De quoi discutiez-vous en chemin ? » Les disciples gardent un grand silence. Un silence sacré, avec un examen de conscience. Profitant ce silence de ses disciple et leur ouverture à l’écoute du Seigneur, il les amène vers son Père. Tout ce que nous faisons sur la terre est bien lié au ciel. Le Père est présent en nous à travers nos frères et nos sœurs. « Celui qui m’accueille ne m’accueille pas moi, mais Celui qui m’a envoyé. »

Tous les saints ont vu Dieu chez les hommes. Dieu était présent par tout et en tout. Leur prières étaient un dialogue entre ce Dieu présent dans ce monde et Celui qui était présent dans leur cœur. Ils ont cherché la volonté du Père. Et ils sont étaient capables de pourvoir décoder le message divin et ils l’ont mis en pratique. Les conflits et les confusions de notre temps, étaient présents dans leur époque aussi, pourtant grâce à leur relation profonde avec le Seigneur, ils ont fait un bon choix. Dans les carrefours des croix, ils ont vu la résurrection.

« Quand la croix est là, donne-nous, Seigneur, de te regarder, de t’écouter, d’entendre ton message en entier. Au-delà de la croix, tu nous annonces toujours la résurrection. » Garde-nous toujours dans cette espérance. Amen

30 They went on from there and passed through Galilee. And he would not have any one know it; 31 for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, "The Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, after three days he will rise." 32 But they did not understand the saying, and they were afraid to ask him. 33 And they came to Capenaum; and when he was in the house he asked them, "What were you discussing on the way?" 34 But they were silent; for on the way they had discussed with one another who was the greatest. 35 And he sat down and called the twelve; and he said to them, "If any one would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all." 36 And he took a child, and put him in the midst of them; and taking him in his arms, he said to them, 37 "Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but him who sent me."

Homily

We call ourselves Christians and engage in announcing the Good news without being actually what we are called to be. Since we have participated in the baptism of the Lord, we reclaim His name as part of ours own. A Christian carries Christ in him and lives his life through Him and in Him. He listens to whatever the Lord asks him to do and puts his soul and all his energy to fulfil the will of God. He does nothing other than that the Lord has asked.

People of the world look and seek their individual interest, personal taste, the benefit of his act. This behaviour by itself is not bad and what is expected of each and every one of us. We should learn to take care of ourselves. In this process of self-enrichment, if others are not our priority, we begin to lose us or destroy us, little by little without knowing the mission that God has entrusted to us, right from the beginning of creation. "Where is your brother? "The first reading presents us one such human behaviour who have forgotten their mission entrusted by the Lord and seek to protect themselves at all costs, at the peril of others, putting others in trouble wilfully and voluntarily.

Jesus is showing us an another way of life, which will give us peace and joy. He is with the disciples and except the time he spent with the Father, he was alwas with others. Today He is walking with his disciples, he instructs them on his way, the way of the cross and gospel says that they "did not understand his words." If they did not understand his words, it was not only that it was difficult to understand, but they were too busy with an important issue; "Who was the greatest. "The Lord's answer is," If someone wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all. "

The biblical readings of this Sunday put face to face two interesting camps, that of the "impious" and that of "just", that of war and of peace, that of humility, service, and the glory and honour. Such multiple situations and contradictions do confuse us and takes lot of our energy in useless taking and doing.

Jesus understood that the subject of his disciples, he asked them, "What were you discussing on the way? "The disciples keep a silence. A sacred silence, with an examination of conscience, do present to us their sincerity and acknowledgement of a wrong path. Profiting the silence of his disciple and their openness to listening to the Lord, Jesus brings them to his Father. Everything we do on earth is bound in heaven. The Father is present in us through our brothers and sisters. "Whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but him who sent me. " Giving a higher meaning to our service to the humanity as something desired and willed by the Father.

Following this invitation of Jesus, all the saints saw God in men and took pleasure in serving them as if they were serving God. God was present through all and in all. Their prayers were a dialogue between that God who was present in this world and the one who was present in their heart. A permanent dialogue which let them in contemplation and meditation at the same time. They sought the Father's will in their thinking, doing and being. And they were able to decode the divine message communicated to them in this world through signs and symbols and they put it into practice. Conflicts and confusions of our time, were present in their time as well, yet through their deep relationship with the Lord, they made a good choice. In the crossroads of the cross, they saw the resurrection.

"When the cross is there, gives us, Lord, to watch you, listen to you, to hear your entire message. Beyond the cross, you always promises the resurrection. "Keep us always in this hope. Amen
