Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint Matthieu

(Mt 9, 18-26)

Tandis que Jésus parlait aux disciples de Jean Baptiste, voilà qu'un chef s'approcha ; il se prosternait devant lui en disant : « Ma fille est morte à l'instant ; mais viens lui imposer la main, et elle vivra. »
Jésus se leva et se mit à le suivre, ainsi que ses disciples.

Et voilà qu'une femme souffrant d'hémorragies depuis douze ans s'approcha par derrière et toucha la frange de son vêtement.
Car elle se disait en elle-même : « Si je parviens seulement à toucher son vêtement, je serai sauvée. »
Jésus se retourna, la vit et lui dit : « Confiance, ma fille ! Ta foi t'a sauvée. » Et la femme fut sauvée à l'heure même.

Jésus, arrivé à la maison du chef, dit, en voyant les joueurs de flûte et l'agitation de la foule : « Retirez-vous. La jeune fille n'est pas morte : elle dort. »
Mais on se moquait de lui. Quand il eut mis la foule dehors, il entra et saisit la main de la jeune fille, qui se leva.
Et la nouvelle se répandit dans tout ce pays.

The message

Le Seigneur est le maître de la vie. La vie est un don que Dieu nous donne et Il nous laisse libre. C’est dans cette liberté que l’homme oublie la présence de Dieu et de temps en temps il se refuse de le reconnaitre.

C’est le chef de l’évangile nous rappelle que le Seigneur est le maître et nous devons aller vers lui, si nous voulons vivre notre vie pleinement. Chaque fois que nous exprimions notre foi, nous entendrons la voix du Seigneur, « Confiance, Ta foi t’a sauvée. »

Rendons grâce au Seigneur pour la Foi que nous avons reçue et aussi pour la joie que la foi nous donne.

Matthew 9: 18 - 26

While he was thus speaking to them, behold, a ruler came in and knelt before him, saying, "My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live."

And Jesus rose and followed him, with his disciples.

20

And behold, a woman who had suffered from a hemorrhage for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment;

21

for she said to herself, "If I only touch his garment, I shall be made well."

22

Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, "Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well." And instantly the woman was made well.

23

And when Jesus came to the ruler's house, and saw the flute players, and the crowd making a tumult,

24

he said, "Depart; for the girl is not dead but sleeping." And they laughed at him.

25

But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.

26

And the report of this went through all that district.

The message

It is the Faith of the woman has saved her from her illness. It is the same Faith of the ruler has saved his daughter. In Bible we have many such histories which are quite inspiring and motivating.

Let us pray to the heavenly Father to increase our Faith. We have to humbly accept that the Faith is a gift from God. We need His grace to believe in Him.

All are not gifted of this Faith, however the Faith is accessible to everyone. It is like a water from the source. The more you seek, the more you receive. At the sight, you will never be able to measure the quantity of the water. Just like the source of water, the Faith also has the same quality, and generous to all who seek for it.

Are we seekers of the Faith and what is the quality of our Faith?
