Après avoir célébré la veillée avec une grande festivité, vient le temps d’une méditation profonde sur l’incarnation. Même si elle est un mystère, c’est grâce à elle que l’homme arrive à comprendre mieux l’amour divin, la vie de Dieu et son dessein de salut pour nous tous. Un Dieu qui a su communiquer avec les hommes à travers les feux, les nuages, il nous parle aujourd’hui dans nos chairs. Un Dieu qui était très loin, est aujourd’hui avec nous et parmi nous.

C’est par l'incarnation que ‘nous devenons enfants de Dieu’ nous dit l’évangile du jour. Au commencement nous étions en Dieu et Dieu en nous. A cause de nos infidélités nous n’arrivons pas à ressentir cette relation filiale que Dieu a établie dès le commencement de la création. L’incarnation est le nouveau commencement du processus afin de rétablir cette relation.

Comme un avatar, il n’a pas pris notre chair, mais il devient l’homme jusqu’à sa plénitude, il est devenu l’un de nous, y compris dans nos faiblesses. Voir la gloire de Dieu en Jésus Christ, c’est voir la puissance de Dieu qui se déploie en lui, une puissance qui jaillit dans le silence et dans la discrétion, comme la source d’une grande rivière. C’est dans une progression que la rivière grandit, pareillement en Jésus Christ, les disciples ont vu le dévoilement progressif de la filiation et de son intimité avec le Père. C’est pourquoi la fidélité à la foi est nécessaire pour grandir en Dieu.

Cet enfant nous est donné pour notre salut. Nous avons une obligation de le protéger et de le faire grandir en nous. Le Verbe dans son silence nous communique, il nous fait comprendre, combien Dieu nous aime dans cette incarnation. Il est là pour nous écouter et nous faire participer à sa divinité.

Nous n’aurons jamais fini de découvrir la grandeur de ce cadeau extraordinaire que Dieu nous fait dans l’incarnation. Il dépasse tout ce que nous pouvons imaginer. C’est ce cadeau que nous sommes invités à redécouvrir en cette année de la foi pour le révéler au monde. Avec la venue de Jésus, c’est Dieu qui nous rejoint. Dans les circonstances les plus humbles et les plus douloureuses, il est Emmanuel, Dieu avec nous. Il se fait petit enfant pour partager notre existence et nous accompagner sur le chemin qu’il est venu nous montrer.

En ce temps de Noël, nous le supplions : « Toi qui es Lumière, toi qui es l’amour, mets en nos ténèbres ton Esprit d’amour ». Amen

After the vigil celebrated with great festivity, Saint Jean is inviting us to have a deep mediation on the incarnation. Even though it is a mystery, it is through this mystery that man comes to understand God's love, his inner feelings and God's plan of salvation for us all.

A God who once to communicate with people through the lighting, the clouds, the sounds of the breeze, the prophets, priests and king has decided to speaks to us directly in our flesh. A God, who was far away from the humanity, is now with us and among us.

Today it is in Jesus Christ, we become children of God says the gospel of the day. In the beginning we were in God and God in us. Because of our infidelities we do not feel this filial relationship that God has established from the beginning of creation. The incarnation is the new beginning of the process to restore this lost relationship, which God longs to put in the right place.

Like Hinduism, God does not take our flesh as an avatar, but He has become totally man, the man to his fullness, he became one of us, including in our weaknesses except sin. See the glory of God in Jesus Christ is to see the power of God which unfolds in him, a power that flowed in silence and discretion, as the source of a great river. This is like the beginning or the source of a great river. In Jesus Christ, the disciples saw the gradual unveiling of divinity and the intimacy with the Father. This is precisely because the fidelity to the faith is necessary to grow in God. We have to become Christ.

This little child is given to us for our salvation. We have an obligation to protect and let it grow in us. Today this Word of God is communicating to us in silence and it makes us to understand how much God loves us in this incarnation. He is there to listen to us and make us share in his divinity.

We will never end to discover the greatness of this extraordinary gift that God gives us in the incarnation. It is beyond anything we can imagine. It is this gift that we are invited to rediscover this year of Faith. With the coming of Jesus, it is God who joins us. In the circumstances the most humble and the most painful, it is Emmanuel, God with us. This little child to share our lives with us and has come to accompany us on the way and to show us the right path of life.
