Évangile de Jésus Christ selon saint Luc

(Lc 12, 13-21)

Du milieu de la foule, un homme demanda à Jésus : « Maître, dis à mon frère de partager avec moi notre héritage. »
Jésus lui répondit : « Qui m'a établi pour être votre juge ou pour faire vos partages ? »
Puis, s'adressant à la foule : « Gardez-vous bien de toute âpreté au gain ; car la vie d'un homme, fût-il dans l'abondance, ne dépend pas de ses richesses. »
Et il leur dit cette parabole : « Il y avait un homme riche, dont les terres avaient beaucoup rapporté. Il se demandait : 'Que vais-je faire ? Je ne sais pas où mettre ma récolte.' Puis il se dit : 'Voici ce que je vais faire : je vais démolir mes greniers, j'en construirai de plus grands et j'y entasserai tout mon blé et tout ce que je possède. Alors je me dirai à moi-même : Te voilà avec des réserves en abondance pour de nombreuses années. Repose-toi, mange, bois, jouis de l'existence.' Mais Dieu lui dit : 'Tu es fou : cette nuit même, on te redemande ta vie. Et ce que tu auras mis de côté, qui l'aura ?' Voilà ce qui arrive à celui qui amasse pour lui-même, au lieu d'être riche en vue de Dieu. »

Le message

Très souvent nous oublions que nous sommes les locateurs sur la terre et nous agissions comme nous sommes les propriétaires. Tous ce que nous avons, est appartient à l’humanité. Si nous refusons les partager, nous deviendrons comme les mauvais vignerons de l’évangile qui ont tué le Fils unique.

Le message de l’évangile du jour ce que nous apprenions à être riche en vue de Dieu. Une qui écoute sa Parole et met en pratique sera un homme riche en vie de Dieu, car la Parole nous invite à nous aimer les uns les autres.

Il y a encore un message. Le monde avec sa richesse ne peut pas sécuriser notre vie, non plus nous assurer la paix et la joie. Pourquoi mettre toute notre énergie sur la richesse du monde alors, elle ne nulle pas nous assurer le bonheur ?

Gospel text (Lc 12,13-21):

Someone in the crowd spoke to Jesus, «Master, tell my brother to share with me the family inheritance». He replied, «My friend, who has appointed me as your judge or your attorney?». Then Jesus said to the people, «Be on your guard and avoid every kind of greed, for even though you have many possessions, it is not that which gives you life».

And Jesus continued with this story, «There was a rich man and his land had produced a good harvest. He thought: ‘What shall I do? For I am short of room to store my harvest. So this is what he planned: I will pull down my barns and build bigger ones to store all this grain, which is my wealth. Then I may say to myself: My friend, you have a lot of good things put by for many years. Rest, eat, drink and enjoy yourself’. But God said to him: ‘You fool! This very night your life will be taken from you; tell me who shall get all you have put aside?’. This is the lot of the one who stores up riches instead of amassing for God».

The message

This riche man is really poor in all the senses other than the money and wealth. A life without peace and unsecured status will be a miserable life. A man with all his richness couldn’t gain some friends to share and enjoy the life. A life filled with solitude and closed to oneself is a horrible life a man ca live.

The message of today’s gospel is entirely different. How to be rich in the eyes of the Father? What is the imperishable riches that Jesus is asking us to have? What can actually make us to live?

For all these questions, there is only one answer by which our Christian faith will shine in this world: the word of God, love. If our life is filled with divine love and compassion, they are capable of giving us a sense and meaning of life. Love alone can make us to live. Shall we learn to invest all our richness in this divine love which finds its expression in the human love?
